    Hi,
I have read that you’re an English horn player! That is so cool! I play the oboe, though probably a lot more casually than you. I was wondering, as a musician in this city (Halifax), do you know of any orchestras or ensembles who would want an oboe (and maybe a violin too) but that is fairly casual? I am a science student, and I really miss playing music with a group, but I’m not good enough (I don’t think) to be a part of, say, the NSYO. If you wouldn’t mind emailing me with any ideas you have, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

    hi 1loneranger

thanks for your message on my site.
and for including me on your blog roll.

i presume by ‘yak’ you mean sitting around at a table and exchanging viewpoints and ideas (in other words chatting), till food on the plates runs cold and dry? in my language we refer to it as ‘adda’.

i also presume, by being on the blogroll, i am invited to share that virtual kitchen table?

i will drop in now and then,
    till the next time
may peace be with you too.

    Hi again Little Indian.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your comments. I look forward to more ‘adda-ing’ with you. I’m not sure where or how the word ‘yak’ was first used in the English language, but you are correct. It is a colloquialism that has been around a while now I guess. It is a kin to ‘chat’, ’shoot the shit’ or ‘adda’ I guess too. I think I like ‘adda’ the best though.

I like it here, 1loneranger. I’m adding you to my blogroll.

    Jose,
Thanks for adding to the tapestry here. It is great to read your thoughts.
I was just wondering if you’ve read my latest post over at http://icanplainlysee.wordpress.com/2007/02/09/democratic-party-plan-for-world-peace/#comment-370

Hank went ahead and extracted my thoughts on his site too. Nice. I don’t know why I even try. Oh well. I suppose I’m just young and dumb. ;)
    Cheers

Ah, another one whose words must be deleted.

    Take it as a compliment!

    :-)

    Hi Aphra,
Thanks for the consolation. It is unfortunate, but you’re right. A back handed compliment it will be.

Hi Loneranger. Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m glad you did because I’ve been meaning to look up your blog. I’m really enjoying it and will read it regularly now.

Beautiful picture in your header. What an honour it would be to catch a glimpse of the whales.

Thanks for putting me on your blogroll (which includes some star blogs btw). I’ve gladly linked to you too.

    Warmest wishes.

Its great to meet you. 1loneranger. Lovely pic! I’ll put a link to you on ‘anticant’s arena’, so please reciprocate.

Fear you’ll find some pretty mean characters like Hank on the blogosphere – but there are plenty of lovely people too. Just like ‘real life’, in fact.

Awe….. see, there you go people…………… making me feel all warm and fuzzy about this strange and novel (for me) way of interacting with people and their inner thoughts.

After the tawdry stuff going on with Hank of icanplainlysee fame I was beginning to think the “blogosphere” that you speak of was going to be nothing but a negative waste of time. Then I found you guys. Welcome, one and all. Now I have to keep up with all of you. I look forward to the challenge.
    Peace

One more to the virtual kitchen table.

    Hi 1loneranger.
I am just learning about trackbacks.
Good way of making sure your writing is not edited or censured.

I am in two minds about ‘icanplainlysee’.
Sometimes I feel inside he might not be the person that comes across through his blogs.

But I am sure grateful to him.
He knows how to make people open up
    and reveal the evil garbage
that they would normally keep hidden inside.

A regular visit to his page teaches me
why everything on earth is going wrong
and what kinds of people are responsible for it.

    Cheers friend,
Tell next time I pass by
may peace be with you and all your near ones.

L.I. – Thank you VERY much for those words.

I know exactly what you mean and can appreciate it. There is quite a lot to what http://icanplainlysee.wordpress.com/
has to say. I can’t say I agree with very much or any of it, but I can appreciate the passion and creativity he puts into it, even if it does seem to produce negative outcomes. It does get people talking, and that is what we’re all here to do, right?

Having past through and participated in the discussion there on more than a couple of occasions I have had the chance to read many peoples’ intelligent, thought provoking and most importantly, positive ideas. This is a good outcome of the dialogue created at that page. And I’ve suspected he knows this. I’ve learned much from the commentors.

I have pondered where all the hate comes from on his site many times. And have also been suspicious of the genuineness of the ideas… wondering if the notions he creates there could just be fabrications meant to provoke arguement just for the sake of arguement (which is a completely unproductive use of time). I’ve even wondered if his posts and comments might give a voice to an alternate virtual/personality… who knows…. Maybe, and if that is so, so be it.

Personally, I think it is important for one to present one’s self honestly on their blog…… simply as they are. I wonder as I travel the “blogosphere” how often this is the case.

Now it is time to take a break from the original topic of this comment however. The negativity no longer provokes me to respond.

Additionally, I am uncomfortable referring to “him” without “his” consent or presence in the discussion that is being created…….. even if it is a “virtual”-kitchen table. It is important to draw the line between virtual and real.

There are brighter things to ponder.

Till next time, peace be with you and those close to you as well.

    Cheers

Yes, 1loneranger, I had time to read your post. Very well worded one, indeed. But that bloke is really pitiable.

Don’t be a stranger now ya here.

Will pop in from time to time, of course.
Don’t have my own site – I just prefer to prowl about spreading ’sweetness and light’ or ‘mayhem’ depending on your viewpoint.
I am also a frequent visitor to Zola’s site – you should check it out as well as AntiCant’s.

    I have not forgotten.
I do visit your site often.

    Hi LoneRanger,
Just wanted to say that I was at your concert on Wednesday night and you and your oboe were definitely FANTASTIC! You are one LoneRanger who has tamed the wild horse (the oboe). Your playing in the Mozart Serenade made me think of Jussi Bjorling (one of my all time fav tenors) – unrelentingly beautiful sound just pouring and pouring out.

    Brava!

    HFX Fan-

Well thank you very much for those kind words. I am humbled by the sentiments. And thank you for attending the concert.

    Best,
